Join us to explore Japan during the cherry blossom season. This year, the cherry blossom tour is organised for 27 March to 3 April. Participation is now open to bookings from Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. We will be flying aboard Singapore Airlines. We we spend two nights in Kyoto, allowing us more time to visit the wonderful sightseeing attractions there.
Below please find the itinerary for the trip:
Day 1 Penang / Transit City / Osaka MOB
Assemble at the Check In counter two hours before departure at the Penang and Kuala Lumpur International Airports for
your flight to Osaka, the second largest city in Japan.
Day 2 Osaka - Nara L/D
Touch down at Kansai International Airport, and received by Japan tour guide. Tour Osaka Castle (outview), then
proceed to visit the Horyuji Temple, a Unesco World Heritage Site, on the border of Osaka and Nara. After visiting
Horyuji Temple, proceed to dinner in Nara.
Day 3 Nara – Kyoto B/L/D
After breakfast at hotel, we tour Nara. Start with Kofukuji Temple, with the second-tallest pagoda in Japan. Next, our
bus takes us to the parking lot of Todaiji Temple, where we begin a walking tour. We will start at Todaiji Temple, which
has the world's largest wooden building in the world, and inside it, we find the world's biggest bronze Buddha. From
Todaiji Temple, we take a walk to Nigatsu-do Temple, with a panoramic view of Nara. From there, we proceed to walk
to through the quaint village shops, to our lunch place in Nara. After a nice Japanese lunch, we continue to Kasuga
Shrine, famous for its many bronze lanterns. Along the way, we admire the cherry blossoms and deer. Our tour bus is
waiting for us at the Kasuga Shrine parking lot. From Kasuga Shrine, we leave Nara, on our way to Kyoto.
Day 4 Kyoto B/L/D
After breakfast at hotel, we tour Kyoto. We start by visiting Toji Temple, in the city centre. Next we take a walk through
the Gion District, the most famous Geisha district in Japan. We admire the well-preserved houses in Gion, which dates
back a few centuries. After that we visit Heien Shrine, built to commemorate the 1000th anniversary of the founding of
Kyoto. We go for lunch at a restaurant nearby after that. After lunch, we visit Nijo Castle, famous for its ornate interior
and "nightingale" floors. From Nijo Castle, we proceed to the most famous Rock Garden in Japan, Ryoanji. We finish the
day by visiting the Golden Pavilion, one of the most famous buildings in Japan. We have lunch and over night in Kyoto.
Day 5 Kyoto - Hakone-Kawaguchi B/L/D
Today we say goodbye to Kyoto and start our cross-country journey through Central Japan. Using the expressway, we
head towards Hakone, and stop somewhere midway for lunch. After lunch, we proceed to Hakone, where we will board
a cruise of Lake Ashi, a lake formed by the massive eruption of Mount Hakone 3000 years ago. On a clear day, we will
get a beautiful view of Mount Fuji (however, most of the time it is overcast). We retire for dinner at the hotel at
Kawaguchi, with a lovely view of the lake.
Day 6 Mount Fuji - Tokyo B/L/D
After our breakfast at Kawaguchi, we go up Mount Fuji. Our journey takes us to the Fifth Station of Mount Fuji, if weather
permitting. There we can get a glorious view of the cone-shaped mountain, weather permitting. Coming down from
Mount Fuji, we have our lunch and then proceed to Tokyo. On arrival, we visit Akihabara Electronics District, where
the latest electronics of Japan's companies are displayed and sold. After dinner, we go up Tokyo Tower, for a
breathtaking view of Tokyo at night.
Day 7 Tokyo B/L/D
Very early in the morning, we wake up to visit Tsukiji Fish Market, the biggest fish market in the world. We return to
our hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we visit Sensoji, also known as Asakusa Kannon - the oldest and biggest temple
in Tokyo. We admire the shops along the way selling traditional items. Then we take a stroll at Ueno Park, the best place
to view cherry blossoms in Tokyo. After visiting Ueno Park, we go sightseeing at Shinjuku, which has some of the most
futuristic skyscrapers in Japan. Next, we visit the most expensive place in Japan, Ginza, where we are given time for
window shopping.
Day 8 Tokyo / Transit City / Penang B/MOB
After an incredible journey, it is time for us to bid farewell to our tour guide, as we board our flight home. Thereafter we
are free until our transfer to Narita International Airport for our flight home. Sayonara Japan.
